Other scholarship programs

In addition to scholarships offered by universities and the government, various local governments and private organizations have established scholarship systems. Here we will introduce some of them. Scholarship programs announced to the university (2024 results)

The following three scholarship programs have early application deadlines (application deadlines are from early to late April).
The same information is posted on the portal site, but it will also be provided on this page.

Ohara Shiraume Foundation Scholarship (for first-year undergraduate students) [Benefit-type scholarship]

[Regarding concurrent funding with the new national scholarship system]
This scholarship is a grant-type scholarship program with no obligation to repay.
Obara Hakubai Scholarship Fund scholarship recipients cannot receive the scholarship in the new national scholarship system (Japan Student Services Organization scholarship + tuition fee reduction), but can only receive the scholarship in the new national scholarship system with tuition fee reduction. (If you wish to receive the new national scholarship, you must apply separately. Also, if you are a high school reservation candidate for the new national scholarship system, you will need to stop receiving the scholarship after receiving this scholarship. The same applies if you apply for and are accepted while enrolled at university.)
This scholarship provides a flat monthly payment of 50,000 yen, while the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) scholarship provides a monthly payment of 9,600 to 75,800 yen based on the support category and type of attendance. When applying for this scholarship, please make sure to check which category your Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) scholarship falls into.
