[Regarding concurrent receipt of this scholarship with the new national student support system]
This scholarship is a grant-type scholarship that does not require repayment.
The Obara Shiroume Scholarship Fund recipients are not eligible to receive the grant scholarship under the new national student support system (Japan Student Services Organization grant scholarship + tuition fee reduction/exemption), but are eligible to receive only the tuition fee reduction/exemption. (*If you wish to apply for the new national student support system, you must apply separately. Also, if you are a candidate for the new national student support system during high school, you will need to stop receiving the grant scholarship after being selected for this scholarship. The same applies if you apply for and are selected for the in-school selection after entering university.)
This scholarship provides a flat monthly grant of 50,000 yen, while the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) grant provides a monthly grant of 9,600 to 75,800 yen based on the support category and commuting method. When a recipient of the new national student support system (reservation/regular) is also using the Ohara Shiroume Scholarship Fund.
