Information on the course student system

Rissho University is opening up university education to working adults with individuality and creativity who feel the need for theoretical learning at a university, and is trying to truly meet the demands of society by providing learning opportunities as so-called "non-degree students." At our university, students can take courses that are open to them in order to obtain various qualifications and credits for the purpose of their studies.

  1. Please check the syllabus, etc. in advance for the course period for each subject (half-term courses and year-round courses).
  2. Tuition fees are to be paid in the 1st term for 1st term/year-round courses, and in the 2nd term for 2nd term courses. Tuition fees cannot be paid in installments for each term.
  3. Fees once paid will not be refunded for any reason. However, if there are no undergraduate or graduate students (regular students) taking a course for which you have been permitted to take, the course will generally be canceled and the tuition fee for that course will be refunded.
  4. If any falsification or fraud is found in the submitted documents, your permission to attend may be revoked even after the procedures have been completed. In this case, the tuition fee will not be refunded at all.
  5. Separate training/experiment fees may apply for subjects such as practical training/experiments.
  6. The tuition fee for half-term courses held twice a week is different from that for regular half-term courses.

How to apply

Please submit your application documents during the application period below. After the application procedure, each faculty and graduate school will examine whether or not you can take the course you wish to take. Please note that changes to courses will not be accepted after the undergraduate/graduate school screening process.

Announcement of permission to attend

As a result of the faculty review, you will be notified by mail of the courses that you have been approved to take. The faculty/department to which you belong will be determined based on the courses you will take and the type of qualification you wish to obtain, based on the criteria set by our university for determining your faculty/department (graduate school major). The same applies even if you apply for lectures in multiple undergraduate departments (graduate school majors). It is not possible to change the faculty (graduate school) to which you belong within the same academic year.

  1. Details of the medical examination conducted at our university will be sent along with the announcement of permission to attend.
  2. If you are newly applying for the second term (fall), you will not be able to take the on-campus medical examination. Please undergo a health check at your own expense.

    <Optional> Chest X-ray (However, those who are planning to participate in educational training, nursing care, etc. must undergo the examination)

Issuance of non-degree student ID card

For those who complete the enrollment procedures, we will distribute a ``Course Non-registration Student ID''. Please bring it with you when you come to the university, as you will use it when using facilities such as the library and when taking regular exams. If it is lost, a reissue fee (2,000 yen) will be charged.
