Active learning to acquire practical and applied skills

At Rissho University Faculty of Business Administration, we combine theory and practice, and theory and skill, to impart not only knowledge of business administration, but also the human qualities necessary for living in society - i.e., collaborative creativity - and to acquire the ability to discover, analyze, and solve problems.
First, by combining theory and practice, we deepen learning that is closely tied to the workplace, and by combining theory and skills, we support students' learning by providing courses to help them acquire skills essential for studying business administration, such as computer skills and bookkeeping, as well as qualifications in information technology and accounting, in order to survive in an organization.
We also place emphasis on fieldwork, going outside the university to conduct surveys and research, proposing product development and services for revitalizing the local area, and conducting research and visiting shopping districts, companies, and government offices.
Students will compile the knowledge they have gained through classroom learning and the results of their fieldwork and research, and give presentations at seminar presentations and at other universities.

Characteristics of undergraduate education

At Rissho University Faculty of Business Administration, in order to provide learning that allows students to experience both theory and practice, we have formed close partnerships with organizations such as the Tokyo Association of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises and offer a "Comprehensive Advanced Topics in Business Administration" course, inviting business owners and practitioners working on the front lines as lecturers. This is one of the most popular courses in Faculty of Business Administration, which has been running for over 20 years.
In addition, we offer internships where students visit companies and organizations to experience the work environment firsthand. Every year, a large number of students, primarily third-year students, participate.

In addition, the university offers a wide range of learning opportunities to support students' career paths. For students aspiring to work in the financial industry, Nomura Securities offers sponsored courses. For students aiming to become certified public accountants or pursue other accounting-related fields, the university has dedicated bookkeeping instructors and provides comprehensive seminars and courses. There are also numerous courses available for obtaining various qualifications, such as certified public accountant and Nissho Bookkeeping Level 2 and 3. Furthermore, the university offers many courses to prepare students for various qualification and certification exams, including those in accounting technology and information technology. In addition, to help students acquire essential IT skills for the working world, all Faculty of Business Administration students are provided with laptops, and they learn basic software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in class.

    Strategic management, which is essential for companies to grow and compete, is a scenario for each company. You will learn mechanisms and mechanisms to make scenarios more interesting, such as ideas for organizational building and human resource development, and methods for building management systems.

  • Marketing to sell

    Marketing, which is important for selling a company's products and services, involves thinking about how to present and convey information. You will learn how to create a system that will sell by analyzing consumer thoughts and psychology, including market research, product development, brand building, distribution strategy, and advertising.

  • Accounting to learn about organizational management from a financial point of view

    Money is necessary for businesses, national and local governments, and individual business owners to operate their businesses. In accounting, students learn about management from a money perspective, such as how to raise business funds, calculate the costs of making things, record and calculate the money spent, and how to use money effectively.

  • Information systems science that considers the present and the future

    Information systems science considers the present and future of companies and information and communication technology (ICT) in an information society that is evolving day by day. Students will understand the optimal relationship between ICT and management, such as information analysis that supports corporate economic activities, improve operational efficiency, and how to utilize it for business, and learn about further possibilities.
