You can apply if you meet any of the following conditions:
Long-term students must be within their own long-term study period.
International students (with a "Student" visa status) can apply for the "Tuition Reduction for Privately Financed International Students" program at Center for International Exchange.
In principle, the shortest period of study is required (Master's degree: 2 years including the year of acceptance, Doctoral degree: 3 years including the year of acceptance. If you complete the course within the period, the grant will end.)
Paid once a year (around early May each year)
Long-term students can reapply after the above period has passed.
There will be a "continuation review (academic performance, household finances, etc.)" at the end of the academic year.
If you take a leave of absence during the continuation period, you will lose your right to continuation for that period.
