What is a scholarship?

The purpose of the scholarship system is to support an environment where students can concentrate on their studies by providing and lending scholarships, and through a meaningful student life, to develop human resources who can play active roles as sensible members of society in the future.
Students must apply for and complete the scholarship application themselves. (In the case of loan-type scholarships, the student is responsible for repayment, so be careful not to borrow too much.)

*All recruitment, procedures, and communications will be announced on bulletin boards or the portal site.

Types of scholarships

There are scholarships for students who have excellent character, academic ability, and grades, and scholarships for students who have difficulty attending school due to financial reasons.
The scholarships offered by our university include: Rissho University Tachibana Scholarship, Rissho University University Undergraduate Tachibana Financial Support Scholarship, Rissho Uninersity Graduate School Tachibana Financial Support Scholarship, Rissho University Academic Continuation Support Scholarship, Rissho University Alumni Association Scholarship, Rissho University Alumni Association Excellent Academic Performance Scholarship, Japan Student Services Organization Scholarship, and scholarships from local governments and private organizations.
Each scholarship organization has its own application qualifications and selection criteria, and there may be a limit to the number of recommendations from universities.
In addition, depending on whether or not there is a repayment obligation, there are two types: a "grant type" which does not require repayment after graduation, and a "loan type" which does require repayment after graduation.
Furthermore, there are "interest-free" and "interest-bearing" types of loans, so please check the expenses you will need to cover while studying at the university and the amount you will have to repay after graduation before making your selection.

Organizations implementing scholarship projects

There are broadly three types of organizations that carry out scholarship projects:

  1. Rissho University
  2. Japan Student Services Organization, Independent Administrative Agency
  3. Local governments/private organizations

There are differences in benefit type/loan type, amount, application conditions, etc., so please check on your own.
