
Q: Does Rissho University have dormitories exclusively for international students?
A: No. Unidence, a residence hall on Kumagaya Campus offers living to both Japanese and international students. However, most international students rent an apartment by themselves due to the limited number of rooms. Some share an apartment with other students due to high rents in Japan.

Q: Can you explain about the Japanese Government Scholarship?
A: Every year Japanese Government Scholarship students are recruited in autumn. The University decides and recommends the candidates, based on their registered and earned credits, academic performance and interview results. Applicants must be third-year bachelor's students, first-year master's students, first-year or second-year doctoral students and prospective graduate students. Undergraduate students receive the scholarship for one year (during their forth year) and graduate students, for the period up to their completion.
Q: What kinds of scholarships can international students apply for?
A: In addition to the aforementioned scholarship, there are various scholarships including Rissho Daigaku Tachibana Shogakusei run by Rissho University, Rissho Ikuei Shogakusei offered by Nichiren Sect, and "Honors Scholarship" administered by Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO). Also, Rissho has a tuition reduction system.

Q: Is it possible for international students to work part-time?
A: Yes. To do part-time work, international students should apply for "Certificate to Engage in an Activity Other than That Permitted by the Status of Residence Previously Granted" by submitting not only an application form issued by Immigration Bureau of Japan, but Fukushinsho (a supporting document) issued by CIE, Rissho University. The Certificate allows full-time students to work part-time for up to 28 hours a week (within 8 hours a day during their summer, winter and spring holidays).
