Application Guidelines for Rissho University 2017 Japanese Language Program "Short-term Course"Summer
Reception of this year's program has been closed.
We will soon begin next year's program application.
This three-week course offers students the opportunity to take classes pertaining to Japanese language, culture and society. The content classes are conducted primarily in English.
Eligible applicants must satisfy the following three conditions:
① Students who are recommended by the head of their universities / institutions in which they are enrolled.
② Students who have passed the N4 level of JLPT or who possess equivalent Japanese language abilities.
③ Students who are able to arrive in Japan on May 26 and participate in the orientation held on May 27.
2. Enrollment Capacity
Maximum of 8 students
3.Course Schedule and Location
May 26 - June 17, 2017 (3 weeks)
Kumagaya Campus (Saitama Prefecture, about 2 hours from central Tokyo by train and bus)
4. Application Materials
① Application Form for Rissho University Japanese Language Program “Short-term Course” [form provided]
*A recent photograph must be attached to the form.
② Letter of Recommendation from the head of university or institution (more than one applicant can be listed in the same letter)
③ Photocopy of passport identification page
④ Two identification photographs (3 cm by 4 cm, from the waist up)
5. Class Subject
Japanese and Japanese Current Affairs I (1 credit)
*Academic credit will be awarded to students who achieve excellent results
*Classes on Japanese Current Affairs are conducted primarily in English
After completion of the course, an academic transcript specifying each subject’s title, grade awarded and credit acquired will be issued.
7. Course Fee
JPY77,000 (3 weeks)
① Included in the Course Fee:
* Tuition Fee
* Fee for Accommodation (May 26-June 17)
* Round-trip fare between Narita Airport and Rissho University
-This is only for those who arrive at Narita on May 26, 2017 (pick-up time is designated)
* Fee for Textbook
* Activity Fee (flower arrangement, tea ceremony, tour to a shrine or temple)
② Course Fee does not include:
* Round-trip fare to Japan
* Fee for meals (cafeterias, eatery, and convenience stores are available)
* Toiletries (please bring your own towel, shampoo, soap, etc.)
8. Travel Insurance
All students must carry appropriate travel insurance to cover any illness or injury which may occur during their stay in Japan.
① Room Type: non-smoking single room with bathtub, shower, toilet, television and air conditioning
② Furniture/Fixtures: desk and chair, bedding, and shoe cabinet
③ Shared Utilities : washing machine and dryer (free of charge but please use your own detergent)
